Verona finds itself in the headlines following a post-match incident involving striker Gift Orban. After the 1-0 defeat to AC Milan at Stadio Bentegodi on Saturday evening, Orban was involved in a physical altercation with a fan.
The Serie A match saw AC Milan secure a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Adrien Rabiot, leaving Hellas Verona with a bitter taste and contributing to the overall frustration.
According to witnesses present at the scene, as reported by the Corriere dello Sport, Orban was visibly frustrated and initially declined to stop for a photograph. The situation escalated when another supporter struck the player's car with an open hand.
At that point, the Nigerian striker exited his vehicle, leading to a heated confrontation that subsequently developed into a physical altercation. The entire scene was captured on mobile phones by bystanders.
The video footage is now being reviewed by authorities. Digos, Italy's specialist police unit responsible for public order at sporting events, attended the scene to carry out their investigations into the incident involving the Verona player.
Gift Orban joined Verona on loan from Hoffenheim last summer, and this episode casts a shadow over his season with the Scaligeri club.
